2017年7月8日，马云在杭州开放了中国第一家无人（售货）超市。进入该超市只需刷一下手机淘宝或支付宝，系统就会自动扣除相应的商品金额。消息瞬间刷爆朋友圈，很多人不远千里赶到杭州先刷为快起初，无人超市顾客如云，随着热度逐渐下降，大部分人还是选择了传统超市。不知从何时起，无人超市已经成了大妈们的乘凉地。天很热，超市里有空调，大妈们进来蹭空调，感觉很爽。对此，网友说马云之败在逃款上，却被中国大妈“打败”了。
2018年，无人（售货）超市真的变成了无人（购物）超市。调查发现，大部分人选择传统超市还，习惯问题；也有人说无人超市的出现不切实际，因为高智能替代了人工，将造成就业困难；还有人说，.
